Professional Services Fee Inclusions

International Repatriation (coffin)

Repatriation Solutions' professional service fee covers the organisation and coordination of the international repatriation of bodily remains from Melbourne, Victoria, to a nominated international airport in the destination country. This fee includes:

·       A comprehensive initial conference with an experienced repatriation specialist at your home or any other mutually agreed upon location within the Greater Melbourne area.

·       Arrangement for the initial transfer of your loved one into our care from either their place of death or Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine (transportation from Regional Victoria available at an additional cost).

·       Obtaining necessary medical documentation from either your loved one’s doctor or the Coroner's Court as appropriate.

·       Registration of death with Births, Deaths & Marriages, Victoria.

·       Collection of either the full or interim death certificate(s) on your behalf (cost to purchase certificates will be itemised and added to our invoice).

·       Liaising with all necessary third party entities such as DHHS, DFAT, airlines, transport agents, foreign consulates, and the receiving agent in the destination country.

·       Arrangement and/or collection of all other documents, authentications, notarisations, permits and translations as required (costs for purchase of the above items will be added to our invoice).

·       Arrangement for all appropriate mortuary care to be undertaken as required for international transportation (embalming and associated costs will be itemised and added to our invoice).

·       Arrangement of air transport bookings for the deceased person (cost of airfreight and associated charges will be itemised and added to our invoice)

·       Packaging of your loved one’s coffin or casket ready for transportation (Shipping crate cost will be itemised and added to our invoice)

·       Transportation of your loved one from our mortuary facility to Tullamarine ready for overseas transport.

Mortuary Care Inclusions

International Repatriation (coffin)

Repatriation Solutions' mortuary fee covers the provision of preparation of your loved one's body for international transport. This fee includes:

·       Full embalming to international repatriation standards completed by a  qualified embalmer with current membership of an associated professional  organisation. For further information on embalming please refer to our "FAQs - General" section or contact us directly.

·       Dressing and aesthetic preparation of your loved one with clothes supplied by the family (additional costs will apply for major reconstruction work as a result of traumatic injury or similar, or persons weighing in excess of 100kg).

·       Preparation of signed embalming certificate

·      Provision of BioSeal System 5 Bag suitable for international air transportation (additional costs may apply if the destination country require a solid metal coffin liner instead)

·       Accommodation of your loved one in a temperature controlled environment for up to 14 days. (Small additional costs will apply for longer time frames regardless of the reason)

The cost of items marked "$ At Cost" will be invoiced at the same amount Repatriation Solutions paid for the product or service on your behalf plus any reasonable expense incurred in obtaining the product or service.

  • Professional Services Fee - $4,180

  • Coffins/Caskets - range starts from $835

    We have an extensive range of coffins and caskets to select from. 

  • Transportation Crate - $660

    A custom, hand made, timber shipping crate is supplied to keep your loved one safe during air transportation.

  • Death Certificate - $65 per copy

    Each repatriation requires at least 2 to 3 original copies of the official death certificate from BDM Vic 

  • Document Authentication / Apostille - $96 per document

    Usually between 1 to 3 authentications or apostille stamps issued by DFAT are required for every international repatriation

  • Notary Public - $ At Cost (if required)

    Some documents must be notarised prior to authentication at DFAT

  • Consular Fees - $ At Cost (if required)

    Most (not all) Consulates charge a paperwork processing fee

  • Document Translations - $ At Cost

    Some countries require NAATI certified translations of documentation into their official language

  • Air Freight - $ At Cost
